Miss Swansean 2020

On January 18, the 2020 Miss Swansean Pageant was held in the new Fine Arts Center in Lexington District 4’s state of the art auditorium. Over 500 people attended this ground-breaking night, organized by the Swansea High School Beta Club. The Swansea High School Beta Club is an organization, whose goals are to promote academics, service, character, and leadership. The proceeds from the pageant tonight will go to supporting service projects to benefit our school and community and to provide opportunities to showcase and improve student leadership.

With the lights and sounds rolling, the beautiful contestants walked down the aisle to Lady Gaga's anthem "Born this Way," and the night was underway. The contestants dressed in character from different time periods like an astronaut, Southern Belle, and a 90s grunge teen in the Theme Wear category of "Through the Decades", showcasing their individuality. In the final portion of Evening Wear, the ladies wore gorgeous dresses, showing poise and sophistication. The seniors answered an on-stage question, demonstrating grace under pressure.

There were some exciting changes made to the traditional beauty pageant, designed to encourage, inspire and recognize the many achievements of the young women in our community. As part of the many changes, $1000.00 in scholarships were given out to the winners in the senior class and  many new titles were added like Miss Entrepreneur, Miss Interview, Miss Sweetheart, and Miss Theme Wear.
