The week of George Washington’s birthday was designated as National FFA Week in 1947 at a National FFA Board of Directors meeting. FFA week always runs from Saturday to Saturday and encompasses Washington’s Birthday. SHS FFA officers decided on themed days for FFA week and encouraged FFA members and the entire student body and staff to participate. Themed days included:
Monday- America Day since the FFA is the largest youth organization nationally. Tuesday- Blue and Gold Day since the National FFA colors are National Blue and Corn Gold. Wednesday- Career Success Day- Dress to impress since our mission statement focuses on premier leadership, personal growth, and career success. Thursday- Camo Day- If you’re hunting for a great club to join, join the FFA. Friday- Flannel Friday and hat day- Flannel, the fabric of the American Farmer and where would we be without our farmers?
FFA officers appreciate all that the teachers and staff at SHS do for them throughout the year to support the FFA Chapter so they showed appreciation to them throughout the week with snacks and drinks in the teacher workroom.
