Our very own 7th grade World Geography teacher Rebecca Osborne-Melson was awarded a classroom grant from the Palmetto State Teachers Association! PSTA Executive Director, Kathy Maness surprised Ms. Osborne-Melson at her school with the exciting news that her grant was chosen as a winner! This grant will be used to purchase materials for financial literacy lessons in her World Geography classes. The addition of materials like a document camera and global currency collections will support lessons about the importance and differences in currency around the world. According to Ms. Osborne-Melson, “To give students a global perspective of economics, they need to understand how money works in reference to buying power, currency exchange, and the physical appearance of currency around the world.”

i-Ready Inform Testing – Aug 18 & 20

7th and 8th grade students will take their i-Ready Inform Benchmark Assessments on Tuesday, August 18 and Thursday, August 20. Students will complete their reading assessment in their ELA classroom and their math assessment in their math classroom.

No prep is needed at home. This benchmark gives teachers valuable insight into each student's strengths and areas for growth, helping us tailor instruction throughout the year.

📣 Attention Rising 7th Grade Families! 📣 As you prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, please remember that South Carolina state law requires all students entering 7th grade to receive the Tdap vaccine before attending school. ✅ Make sure your child’s immunization record is up to date. ✅ Submit a current immunization record to the school before the first day of school. Taking care of this now will help ensure a smooth start to the new school year! If you have questions about immunization requirements or need assistance, please contact the front office.
