Tomorrow the ECC will be rocking our socks for World Down Syndrome Day!
World Down Syndrome Day is an annual, global awareness day advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people who have Down syndrome. Why 3/21? This is because people who have Down syndrome have 3 copies of the 21st chromosome. We rock our most colorful and fun socks in celebration of their uniqueness.

Congratulations to the winners of our second ECC Math Challenge! Ivanna and Jaxson both received a board game and a math book to celebrate! Our next math challenge starts on soon. Congratulations to our Students of the Quarter! These students were selected by their teachers for best representing Habit 4: Perform. These are students who consistently complete quality work and manage time appropriately. At the ECC, we PERFORM! We give our best effort every time!

Our March PALS sessions are coming up soon! We hope you can join us this month!

When a student misses so many days they are chronically absent, (10% or more days), it means the lack of engagement in learning is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed.

Health-related absences are a top reason students miss school, yet sometimes they can be avoided. Partner with students, families and health providers to keep students healthy and in school!

Each quarter at the ECC, students are learning a new habit from our District's Habits of Learning. In Quarter 3 (January 7th-March 13th) students are learning about Habit 4: Perform. Students are taught that to perform in the classroom means they give their best effort every time, and this requires perseverance! Check out Mrs. Cann's affirmation station in her classroom! This is a great way to encourage positive self-talk, which is a key component in learning perseverance. Try replicating something similar at home and upload your pictures in the comments below! We love to see how our early risers represent the Habits of Learning!
