To celebrate a successful year of “Taking Flight,” we concluded the year with a special Airport Simulation Day on Monday, May 18. This exciting experience was designed to give students a real-world airport experience while celebrating the journey they have taken throughout the school year.
Students participated in activities that simulate the airport process, including check-in stations, boarding passes, security checkpoints, boarding, and destination celebrations. Through this interactive experience, students learned about airport procedures, practiced communication and problem-solving skills, and experienced the excitement of traveling in a fun and engaging environment

We are excited to recognize Mrs. Patrina Pough as Sandhills Elementary's nominee for the Hawthorne Pharmacy Excellence in Education Award! This nomination reflects the passion, hard work, and heart that Mrs. Pough shows to our students, families, and school community each day. Congratulations Mrs. Pough!

Using parallel and perpendicular lines, angles, and geometric reasoning, students in Ms. Eustace's math class began designing their own creative city maps complete with streets, landmarks, parks, and neighborhoods. The classroom was filled with collaboration, problem-solving, and some incredibly imaginative ideas as students worked hard on their city sketches on Friday!

At Sandhills Elementary, we do things a little differently—and we love it that way!! Today we celebrated “We Appreciate You Wednesday”  It’s our way of pausing midweek to recognize the some of the amazing people who make our school special. So much of what they do happens behind the scenes and can sometimes go unnoticed or overlooked. We are especially grateful for Tricia Crist, Melissa Lee, Leighann Lorick, Fifi Means, Suzette Mishoe, and Marlon Smith who show up every day with heart, dedication, and care for our students.

Our buddies crushed the race this weekend and represented Our Run Hard runners absolutely crushed the 5K this weekend and represented our school with pride! Every one of our runners crossed the finish line in under 40 minutes, showing determination, perseverance, and teamwork every step of the way — all while having a blast! We are so proud of these students and all they accomplished this season. Thank you to our families, coaches, running buddies, and supporters for helping make this season such a great one! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💙

May 6th is National Nurses Day! Thank you to our very own Mrs. Mishoe for making sure we are healthy, and safe. Your kindness and care make a world of difference in our Village!

We may be a little late, but our appreciation is year round!
May 1st was Principal Appreciation day and We would like to thank Mr. Smith for his tireless effort, steady guidance, and heart for leadership!

Several of our buddies used Mr. Smith as their inspiration for teacher student spirit swap!

We have enjoyed seeing all our buddies in their jerseys - there are 4 more days of spirit week!
