We want to introduce the Class of 2029 and their family and friends to the Swansea Freshman Academy staff and faculty. Dr. Kimberly Badger is a National Board Certified Math Teacher with over 20 years of experience in the classroom and a doctorate in Instructional Leadership–Higher Education. She has taught at the middle school, high school, and college levels, including courses at Aiken Technical College. While her primary focus has been mathematics, Dr. Badger has also enjoyed teaching STEAM, exploratory courses, and Freshman Success. Originally from Barnwell, SC, she is passionate about student growth, lifelong learning, and creating impactful educational experiences. Outside the classroom, she enjoys journaling and spending quality time with her family.

To close out the week, students in math completed puzzles silently for team building collaboration.

Students had an exciting first week of school getting their brand new Chromebooks, meeting their teachers, and learning how to navigate a new school. We are excited for the new year.

Over the next couple weeks, we want to introduce the Class of 2029 and their family and friends to the Swansea Freshman Academy staff and faculty. We are so excited to meet you!

Mr. Andres Parra is an International teacher from Colombia. He is a graduate from the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia with a bachelor's in modern Languages, Spanish and English. He also holds a Master’s degree in Language Teaching from the same University. Mr. Parra has been a teacher for 8 years. He loves spending his free time playing video games, cooking, exploring the outdoors, and traveling with his wife, Juliana Laverde, an ESOL teacher from Sandhills Middle School.

Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!! Please take a look at this week's "Week At A Glance" to stay up to date on events at Swansea Freshman Academy!

Over the next couple weeks, we want to introduce the Class of 2029 and their family and friends to the Swansea Freshman Academy staff and faculty. We are so excited to meet you! Coach Green is a graduate of Swansea High, Lander University, and Columbia College with a Master's in Athletics. He serves as our Physical Education teacher, assistant athletic director, and Head Women's Basketball coach at Swansea High School. He and his wife, Jalysa, have three children, Kaysen, Kamden, and Jalea. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and coaching youth sports.

Over the next couple weeks, we want to introduce the Class of 2029 and their family and friends to the Swansea Freshman Academy staff and faculty. We are so excited to meet you! We want to welcome Mrs. Angela Spires to our SFA family as the friendly face in our front office. She has proudly called Swansea home for the past 26 years, having spent her early years in West Columbia. She is married to Jason Spires and together have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Her hobbies are reading, painting, and above all spending time with her family.

Over the next couple weeks, we want to introduce the Class of 2029 and their family and friends to the Swansea Freshman Academy staff and faculty. We are so excited to meet you! As a graduate of Albany State University, Mrs. McCray is starting her 10th year in the district as the Attendance Clerk at SHFA. She has also coached girls' basketball for 5 years at Sandhills Middle School and taught Digital Citizenship and Physical Education at Frances Mack Intermediate School. She is married to Demetrie McCray and has two children. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and traveling.
