Lexington School District Four Board of Trustees Vacancy

Lexington School District Four announces that Board of Trustees member Troy Harper has resigned his position effective January 15, 2026. Mr. Harper shared that changes to his professional obligations will limit his ability to participate fully in school board meetings. Board Chair Quincy Sutton expressed appreciation for Mr. Harper’s service, stating, “The Board is grateful for Troy Harper’s service and commitment to Lexington District Four. His leadership and dedication to our students and community have been valued during his time on the Board, and we thank him for his contributions. We wish him continued success.”

Mr. Harper began his service on the Lexington District Four Board in December 2023 and demonstrated a strong commitment to the district’s mission to serve students, staff, and the community. Superintendent Dr. Justin Nutter acknowledged Mr. Harper’s contributions, stating, “I appreciate Mr. Harper’s service to our district and his thoughtful approach to supporting students and staff. He served with humility and a genuine spirit of service, and his willingness to give his time and leadership to Lexington School District Four is sincerely appreciated.”

The vacant seat will be filled through a special election scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Official information regarding candidate filing, voter registration, early voting, and absentee voting will be provided by the Lexington County Election Commission.
